Today’s Challenge: Baby steps to health
For each principle of health we want to acknowledge what we’ve been successful at, what we are struggling with, and the new habit that we are actively working on.
Let’s play the “Rose, thorn, and bud” game. Here’s an example:
Rose: I’ve been successful at...
Drinking 5 glasses of water each day
Thorn: I am struggling with...
Controlling my cravings for sweets
Bud: I am working on...
Eating more lean protein with each meal to feel more satiated and regulate my blood sugar
Now fill out your own baby steps to health using the “Rose, thorn, and bud” game:
Nutrition (daily nutrition, hydration, fad dieting, starvation, missed meals, stress eating)
Rose: I’ve been successful at…
Thorn: I am struggling with…
Bud: I am working on…
Exercise (daily activities, workout consistency, enjoying movement)
Lifestyle (sleep quality, stress management, meditation, breathing exercise, gratitude, self-talk)
Self-care (cold and flu prevention, regular doctor’s appointments, habits, daily toxin exposure, annual health evaluation)
Support (family, friends, support networks, dealing with gossip, volunteering, online communities, hobbies)
Sustainable health (steps to keep yourself accountable, long-term goals, dreams, aspirations)
